craresources

Another niche recruiting firm to notice is craresources.  The company was established in 2007 and while they do focus on the recruitment of clinical research professionals, their primary claim to fame is the placement of CRAs.

So I guess you can say they have a niche within a niche.  They have an outstanding LinkedIn presence with a very mature LinkedIn Group which only allows clinical professionals (no recruiters, no one from outside of the clinical research industry).  They also have a very active blog where they provide ongoing resources and support to their job seekers and hiring managers.

Their size is fairly small (11-50 employees with 19 recruiters listed on LinkedIn), but with them being so specialized in our industry, I don’t see their size as an issue.  The other thing I noticed was that they offer a 90 day money back guarantee on their permanent placements.  I know a lot of recruiting companies offer some type of “guarantee”, but it is nice to see a company put it into writing.

They have a nationwide reach (all of North America, actually), have an expertise in direct sourcing passive candidates, and a low attrition rate.

Clinical Solutions Group (aka CSG)

5

CSG is another niche clinical recruitment firm established in 1999 and located in Raleigh, NC.  They advertise that they place both contract and perm positions and state they offer excellent benefits, referral bonuses, relocation, training reimbursement and continuing education.

I find this offer quite interesting as typical recruiting companies will not provide employee type benefits to consultants.  The positions posted on their website are across the US so they appear to have a solid nationwide reach.

We didn’t find any negative or positive feedback on CSG.  We also couldn’t find a company blog offering advice to clinical research professionals in the job search or hiring topics.  We did find their LinkedIn presence and it is fairly small with a single digit number of recruiters listed as working with the company.  While having a smaller recruiting organization is acceptable when niched in a specific industry, I would be concerned if the team is this small on how quickly they can turn around submittals…so if you engage CSG, ask how many recruiters will be focused on your needs and also ask what their average turn around time is for submitting candidates.

Clintel Services

Clintel Services was established in 2002 and is also a niched clinical recruitment agency focused in the Pharma, Biotech and Medical Device industries.  Areas Clintel will recruit include Clinical Research, Medical Affairs, Data Management (including Biostats), Drug Safety, QA and Business Development.

The size of the company?  This company appears to be fairly small, with about 11-20 recruiters as near as we can see.  As I have mentioned in other reviews, I don’t see having a smaller recruiting team as a problem since the company is niched…as long as they are efficient in their recruiting processes (let us know!).

Clintel advertises a nationwide reach, but has a single office in the Germantown MD / DC area.  The job posts on their website are largely generic and have been on their site for almost a year at this point…so I worry about how active they are.  There was no blog that we could find.

Brio Resource Group

Brio Resource Group is a focused clinical recruitment staffing agency providing staffing solutions in the Pharma, Biotech, and Medical Device Industries.  You will find Brio recruiting in the Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Data, Drug Safety, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, and Manufacturing disciplines.

The size of the company?  Between 11-50 recruiters as best as I can tell; which I don’t see as much of a problem since this company focuses only in the clinical research industry and if the agency is efficient.

Our experience is that Brio does have a nationwide reach (although most of their recruiters seem to be located in the Northeast) and an average screening process.  I couldn’t find an active blog and that is a peeve of mine as this means the company is only interactive with their candidates and clients when there is a need.

Bandish Group

Although I wouldn’t place Bandish Group into our “pure” Niche Clinical Recruitment Firm category, I would state that Bandish has a clear focus on recruiting clinical research professionals.

In addition to clinical research development and operations, Bandish also recruits in aligning areas such as Managed Care, Market Research, Marketing and Commercialization, Communications, Scientific Research, and Preclinical.

As it relates to position focus, however, I didn’t see a lot of current or past positions for what I call “the basics” (CRAs, Clinical Trial Managers, and other basic operational roles).  The positions I saw were more senior leadership or specialty roles.

Their website has a general “Quality Guarantee” statement, but no mention of a money back guarantee or any other parameters.   They do have several articles published and some nice tips on their website, but we found no interactive blog to assist candidates or hiring managers “real time”.
