PharmaLogics Recruiting

2

PharmaLogics Recruiting has a team of about 11-50 employees according to LinkedIn. Their website is heavily devoted to obtaining more clients and they are a contingency based recruiting firm.

PharmaLogics Recruiting has open jobs ranging from marketing and engineering, to supply chain/logistics and manufacturing. This company appears to recruit for several different industries besides clinical research although they do offer a
guarantee on all positions.

Maxim / Orbis Clinical

Maxim is a staffing agency which works in multiple healthcare segments, including clinical research. They provide contract, contract to hire, per diem and direct hire / permanent placement services.

Maxim’s clinical research staffing division is otherwise known as Orbis Clinical.  Orbis doesn’t just claim they can recruit in the clinical research industry, but can provide drug safety and risk management consultation and expertise.

If you are looking for the typical clinical operations staff (CRAs, Clinical Study Managers, Clinical Trial Managers, etc), then I am not sure Orbis / Maxim is going to be your “go to” company.  A quick look at their open positions reinforces their attention is focused primarily to drug safety and addressing their clients’ regulatory issues.

Orbis Clinical is a Boston based company advertising a company size of 51-200 employees.  Orbis has a solid LinkedIn presence with 29 employees showing on LinkedIn at the time of this review.  We could not find an interactive blog.  Our Audience would appreciate your feedback – add comments about Orbis Clinical here.

JGB BioPharma Consulting

JGB BioPharma Consulting is definitely not a company niched in clinical research.  Yet I wouldn’t classify this company as a soup-to-nuts company either.  While their website states they work in the biopharma, medical device, diagnostics and bioinformatics areas, I found jobs posted on their website in Finance, Facilities, Software Engineering, and Legal with positions ranging from Administrative Assistants to Executive level.

I found their job postings to be confusing…if I were a job seeker I would have had a hard time finding a specific position.  in many cases, I couldn’t tell the exact location of the jobs, so as a job seeker I may not be inclined to apply due to the vagueness of the position descriptions.  Additionally, there were no dates as to when the positions were posted, so I couldn’t tell how old the positions were.  Not only is this an issue for job seekers, but this is a flag to me as a hiring manager, as aging positions result in huge problems relating to me acquiring my much needed new hire in a timely fashion.

LinkedIn shows their company size to be between 11-50 employees with 17 team members found on LinkedIn.  As you know by now, a smaller company size is not an issue with me if the company is niched in a specific area and has efficient processes.  My number one concern with JGB BioPharma is that they have a small team and a diverse focus.

Bandish Group

Although I wouldn’t place Bandish Group into our “pure” Niche Clinical Recruitment Firm category, I would state that Bandish has a clear focus on recruiting clinical research professionals.

In addition to clinical research development and operations, Bandish also recruits in aligning areas such as Managed Care, Market Research, Marketing and Commercialization, Communications, Scientific Research, and Preclinical.

As it relates to position focus, however, I didn’t see a lot of current or past positions for what I call “the basics” (CRAs, Clinical Trial Managers, and other basic operational roles).  The positions I saw were more senior leadership or specialty roles.

Their website has a general “Quality Guarantee” statement, but no mention of a money back guarantee or any other parameters.   They do have several articles published and some nice tips on their website, but we found no interactive blog to assist candidates or hiring managers “real time”.

MSN Medical Staffing Network

The Medical Staffing Network (MSN) is a company I would classify as a hybrid.  This company isn’t really niched in clinical research, as their primary specialty is on other medical staffing (nurses, PAs, pharmacists, and other allied health specialists).  While MSN does have a clinical research division, the majority of their placements as an overall company are within the nursing discipline.  At the time of writing this review, they had 1507 open positions with only 5 of them listed in the Clinical Research category.

MSN has a solid internet presence with an active LinkedIn group and Facebook page.  Their clinical research focus seems to fall within operations (SAS programming, Regulatory, Coordinators and Data Management), but I am hopeful they recruit CRAs too.  MSN Corporate was formed in 1998 and they appear to place contractors as well as permanent / direct (although I didn’t see a guarantee statement on their website for direct hires).

Our audience would love to hear your feedback working with MSN.  Add your comments about MSN here.
