Apex Executive Recruiting Inc specializes in placing executive positions and they boast the ability to place executives in different industries like sales, clinical, service, marketing, and sales management within the medical devices/pharma realm. Although they are called an executive search firm, when looking at their open requisitions there are positions that are not executive level such as sales representatives and territory managers.

*When searching through their executive VP positions, the positions had expired February 2012 but were still on the website!

Sterling-Hoffman Life Sciences

Sterling-Hoffman Life Sciences advertises themselves as an Executive Search firm which can provide candidates for the Pharmaceuticals, Biotech, and Medical Device industry.

However, further in their website, they advertise they “accept” recruiting assignments for operational roles such as Trial Manager and CRAs.  A quick search of their open position confirms that although they do have some executive positions listed, these senior level roles are only a small percentage of open positions.  We noted Sterling-Hoffman also recruits for Engineering, Manufacturing, and Sales positions.  Their LinkedIn profile indicates they represent both life science and emerging technology companies in their search for senior leadership talent.

Executive recruiting is a niche area and requires certain talent to do it effectively.  I am always concerned when I see “Executive Recruiting” companies not actually focused on just senior level roles.

Sterling-Hoffman Life Sciences has a solid LinkedIn presence with an active international group of over 7000 participants and a company size of over 150 employees worldwide.   We didn’t find a blog, although there were some recruiting and interviewing tips on their website.
